Returning to San Diego: Lucia & Nicole Selected for the 33rd San Diego Latino Film Festival

We’re honored to share that Lucia & Nicole has been officially selected for the San Diego Latino Film Festival.

For our team, this selection carries a deeper resonance. In 2020, Marlene Emilia Rios’ short film We Choose To Go was accepted to this very festival and scheduled to screen in person. Flights were booked. Plans were made. Then, like so many things that year, the festival, and the world,

shut down.

Returning years later with Lucia & Nicole feels less like a repeat and more like a continuation. A reminder that creative paths are rarely linear, and that some moments simply take longer to arrive.

Lucia & Nicole is a quiet, intimate story about memory, love, and the fragile act of letting someone back into your life. We’re grateful to SDLFF for creating space for these kinds of stories and for welcoming this film into their 33rd year.
